If you are looking to pre-plan a funeral service, we are here to answer all your questions about the process and guide you through it. Once you’ve decided that pre-planning is right for you, your next question is likely: how do I actually go about pre-arranging a funeral service? Here we share an easy step-by-step guide for you with our advice.
Read through our funeral pre-arrangement form
On our website, we have a funeral pre-arrangement form ready to be filled out online, or one that can be downloaded and printed. Even if you are not ready to fill out any of the information yet, we recommend looking through the form so that you can start to think about what this process entails. Pre-planning can include aspects of a funeral including:
- Your choice of funeral director
- Your religious affiliations
- Your wishes as to burial or cremation
- Music to be played during the service
- Specific wishes that are important to you
Decide what is non-negotiable for your funeral
When you use our pre-arrangement form, you can provide your preferences for as many or as few aspects of your funeral service as you wish. When making these tough decisions, consider what is non-negotiable for you: do you have a preference for cremation or burial? Do you have a family plot or specific cemetery that holds special meaning? How would you like your religious affiliations to be reflected in the service? Once these have been decided, then you can choose other aspects of the service if you wish, such as the food, music, or venue.
Talk it through
Going through this process can feel overwhelming, and it is important to stay connected to your loved ones. Whether you are unsure about a decision, would like to ask somebody to be the executor of your estate, or would appreciate a family member’s input – we recommend having those important conversations early on. If you wish, our friendly and professional Funeral Directors are also happy to meet with you to fill in the form together and answer any queries, either at your place or ours.
Fill out our form and complete the process
Once you are ready, fill out our funeral pre-arrangement form either online or print it off at home and bring it in to us. There is no need to fill out the entire form, and you are more than welcome to leave things empty if you are not sure about them. We will have your requests on file, and we also highly recommend you keep your own copy and other important documents in a safe place and let a trusted loved one know where they can find the information when the time comes.
