Dear Joanne and family
We were saddened to hear of Diane’s passing via our close family friend, Andrea Pike. I am Jim and HIlary Stewart’s eldest daughter, Jane. You may remember me as we were sat at the same table at Andrea and Andrew’s wedding reception. Mum, Katherine (my sister) and I send our condolences to you and your family on this very sad loss. Your Mum and Dad came to my father’s funeral in 2013 and also visited Dad in his final weeks, along with Val and Mike Campbell. This meant the world to Dad and Mum. Dad was especially fond of Tony and had a lot of time for him as they knew each other during their early NZ Police days in the 50s/60s. Your Mum seemed like a very lovely, gentle, kind and compassionate person who gave a lot to others. It’s sad to hear of her demise but I hope her passing was quick and painless. A big void for you but I hope you know her soul is with God and she is in a better place.
Our sincerest sympathy to you.
With love Jane, Katherine and Hilary Stewart ( Jim Stewart’s daughters and wife).xxx
I remember with great fondness of special times with Diane and Tony when they lived across the road in Wairakei. Trips to the snow , late night swims at the wairakei hotel etc. Tony was responsible for my 32 year career in the courts and when I needed a second job employed me in the Rising Sun hotel.
Both were a big influence in my life and will always be eternally greatful.
Blessings to all
Farewell Beautiful Aunty. Your grace, smile and impeccable style, will always be remembered.
Thanks for your heartfelt hugs over the years and the ever present twinkle in your eyes that made us all feel understood. We will miss you so much. Our Love and thoughts are with Joanne, Roger and Family.
