There are people who pass through your life albeit briefly and leave an indelible footprint in your heart. For me Dee was that person. My fondest memory of Dee (besides a smile that just lit up a room) is on one of her visits to Port Elizabeth South Africa. A few of us went to supper at the old Walmer Gardens Hotel. After a delicious meal of Sole Mornay Dee spotted a piano in the corner of the room. She didn’t need much encouragement to play a few tunes and the already great evening turned into a fun sing along with other diners joining in as well. Sleep softly dear Dee. You will be missed by so many.

Fond memories of “Mrs Vosper’s” warm hugs after each of my piano exams. Generous treats followed with Devonshire scones together at the Cambridge tearooms. She was a wonderfully inspirational teacher and music clearly gave her much joy. Special memories too of her enthusiastic encouragement given to “Mandy” and I as we set off on our ponies (Misty and Goldie) across the Duncan’s farm on our long trek to Pony Clu…fun times!
Philip, Amanda and Sara…I trust that your happy memories will be of comfort today as you celebrate the life of your Mum…a wonderfully warm hearted and inspirational woman.

A message from Jackie and James in Cape Town: We are both very sad to hear of the passing of wonderful Dee. It’s been many years since we last met here in Cape Town but the memories never fade when you cross paths with a truly special person. She was an absolute joy and I’ll never forget the delight she took in the funny little bracelet I made for her. Our sincere condolences to all her family and friends. You were so fortunate to have such a loving and graceful mother, grandmother and human being in your lives.
We send our deepest condolences to Sara, and all of the family at this sad time. May Dee rest in peace.
Dee was an incredible lady…strong and determined, with a great sense of humour.
And I will always be indebted to Dee for my glamorous nickname ” Trish the Dish”…
Fly high with the angels, lovely lady

Barbara and I, together with the wider Gibbs family, are thinking of you all at this time. It has been a highlight of our annual visits to NZ to visit Dee. She was always so lovely and never seemed to change.
love from Robin Gibbs (UK cousin)
Doris – my cherished second mum, my country mum. I have so many fond memories of my holidays at the farm with you all. From the beautiful Cavalier King Charles spaniels (I still think of you whenever I see one), to the day I rode the motorbike up the tree (ok so I omitted to say that I’d never been on one before!) to the night Sub and I (home alone) convinced ourselves we were going to die in a tornado! the amazing dinners (you were such a great cook), and to your patience with our hijinx (enough said!). You have been an inspiration to me throughout my life, your infectious positivity, your wonderful sense of humour and your unbounding love. Your life was a blessing to all you met, and our memories are your legacy for us to treasure. With much love to you, Sara, Amanda & Philip Roz xxxx
Doris Vosper was a beautiful lady. Lovely memories of happy days in the Hinuera Valley and fun evenings at the Piarere Balls.
