HAMPTON, Dorothy June, peacefully passed away 20th June 2026 after a short illness. Loving wife to the late Arthur Hampton, loving mother to Joy & John, Kay & Brendon. Grandmother to Annalise & Sam, Nicole & Martin, Josh, Summer and Cruz. Great Grandmother Rory & Caleb (old nanna) to Arty & Greer.
Our greatest loss is your greatest reunion. Rest easy you legend.

A poem for Nana Dot
Dear Nana Dot, you lived life fast,
With memories that will always last.
An authentic soul, so brave and true,
There’ll never be another like you.
In your Nissan Skyline, you loved to race,
With a fearless smile upon your face.
Aquaplaning through puddles, chasing the thrill,
That wild, fun spirit inspires us still.
To you, unnecessary things were just a chase,
Dismissed aloud as an “utter waste.”
You showed your love through the things you’d bake,
Like the cinnamon oysters we’ll continue to make.
You helped me so much when my babies were small,
Folding the washing and answering the call.
Hanging clothes on the line, always staying to nurse,
Easing my load when the days were perverse.
You’d babysit the kids and give them a scare,
With a sharp, funny warning right then and there:
“Stop crying right now, or I’ll smack your bum!”
A memory that makes the laughs still come.
And those vodka jellies you loved to enjoy,
Bring giggles to every girl and boy.
You were so tough, you rarely cried,
Facing the world with strength and pride.
Please forgive our tears as you choose to go,
Our hearts are heavy because we love you so.
Thank you for being my wonderful friend,
A confidant whose warmth had no end.
An amazing mother-in-law, Nana, and guide,
Who always stood patient by our side.
Your generosity was a steady light,
As you gently step into the night.
Josh, Summer, and Cruz had the very best,
A grandmother who passed every test.
I will follow your steps, this I vow to do,
To be the nana to their children, just like you.
Forever grateful for the love you gave,
Be peaceful, be free, be strong and brave.

Moe mai raa Dot. Many happy memories of the old Cambridge Post Office days and a wonderful friend and workmate. Sympathy and loving thoughts to all the family from June Donkin.
Dot was a wonder neighbour to us also over the last 4 years. She was an amazing lady, she was very fortunate to have such a loving family which enabled her stay in her own home. She will be missed. Bryan and I are thinking of you at this sad time.

Sincere sympathy of you all on the the sad occasion of Dot’s passing. I was able to spend time with Dot recently and we enjoyed recollecting our many happy memories playing tennis together, and my time with Interview 69 which Dot had persuaded me to join!
