MERTON, Tony Alfred

Passed away peacefully at Waikato Hospital on Friday, 29th August 2025, aged 80 years, after a brief illness. Loving father to Rich, James, and Mindy. Cherished Grandad to Logan and Dani. Devoted partner and friend to Margaret. Adopted Dad and companion to Carl the Greyhound

The family sincerely thank Waikato Hospice, Waikato Hospital, and St John for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Tony in his final weeks.

A memorial service to celebrate Tony’s life will be held at the Victorian Room, Cambridge Town Hall, Victoria Street, Cambridge on Thursday, 11th September 2025 at 11:00am. Messages to the Merton family may be sent c/- 3 Hallys Lane, Cambridge 3434.

    Margaret so sorry for your loss, I knew.Tony for over 27 years first meet.at Tenpin, then all the adventures with Thumps Up club, and then Linda’s dinner group. He was always great fun, he enjoyed good wine and good food with us, but always good memories
