Please convey to the Carr family my deepest sympathy and appreciation for Murray. As vicar of St Andrews 1993-99 I had many opportunities to work with him and I deeply appreciated his skills on the organ. He was much appreciated by parishioners. It’s a long time ago now but the memories have not faded. You are all in our prayers at this time.
    Every blessing
    Noel

Hall Street in Cambridge was always a home away from home. Food was the welcome at the door, a spare bed to be found in Richard’s room, and Uncle Murray fussing in the kitchen. Jane’s room was the messy one & full of horse books and prize ribbons, Richard had cricket bats & was decorated by Black Caps posters.
The cats came and went (let’s not mention the lawnmower incident), Auntie Rose was the Queen of the crafts and a taxi for Jane & Richard, and Uncle Murray flowed between organ services and the academic world of education…. Small dogs replaced the cats.
We made a special trip from Christchurch not long after Holly was born in 1997, to see Auntie Rose before she passed. I made the same journey again this June, to talk with Uncle Murray, to share the talk from Holly & Lauren as they asked after their ‘Great Uncle’ or Great Uncle Bulgaria as he had named himself, and why not. And as Leah and I embark on our new journey, we know that Uncle Murray embarks on his, finally. I hope he appreciates how long Auntie Rose has been waiting for him!! Thank you too to Tom for your aroha and strength over the last years, ma te wa e hoa.
Love, as ever, from the Christchurch Carrs.
    Grant
