I am truly shocked and devastated to hear of Paul’s passing. I had the privilege of being coached by him last year, and I will never forget the impact he had on me. As a senior in a team full of juniors, I once thought I had it all figured out — but Paul gently brought me down to earth. He showed me that the game was never just about myself, but about the team, about playing for each other. I will deeply miss our chats, his wisdom, and his unique way of teaching. He was not only a great coach but a truly good man. My thoughts and prayers are with Paul’s family during this heartbreaking time.

Paul, we were shocked and saddened when we heard the news and we still can’t believe you’re no longer with us. Without you our club would not be where it is today. A lot of our members, past and present, and Football people in general have posted messages on our Facebook page. Its amazing how many people you knew and that you left a lasting positive impression on. A credit to your determination and personal nature and your positive can do attitude. Without this our Adaptive Football Football programme at PUFC would not have started and continued on into its 10th year.
Over the years we not only became soccer buddies but friends. Its a shame we lost contact over the last few years. We will miss you my friend.
    Rest in peace.
Cherie, George and Jonathan our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Take care and look after yourselves.
Unfortunately, we are unable to attend Pauls funeral, but we know it will be a blast as that was Pauls way.

Personally and on behalf of the Papatoetoe United Football Club community

Paul changed my life for the better, welcoming me back into Football in 2017 and I haven’t stopped since. We share our birth date and even though we don’t speak often, every year he would always send me a Birthday message. I will remember him as someone who gave so much to the Football community while having a laugh the whole time. Much love to Paul’s family.

Paul we are devastated. We didn’t know you for very long but enjoyed yours and Cherie’s company at the annual Advanced Marketing xmas functions. We had such fun and Cherie really enjoyed sharing Prosecco with me. We never got down to see you in your beloved Cambridge home. Will miss you. Rest in peace .

My best wishes to the family and work colleagues of Paul.

I have known Paul for the 20 years I have been working in biosecurity. He was always friendly and happy to chew the fat while asking for help or a special favour. I have wiped his drinks tab -hot chocolate is fattening.

    Hi Paul
I still can’t believe you are gone. We worked side by side for over 20 years, and you were not only a great colleague but also a true friend. You were kind, warm-hearted, and always cared for others. This month has been so hard for me, losing my mother and now losing you too. I will always miss you.
