KING, Paul Emmerson Peacefully passed away at Waikato Hospital on Friday, 26th June 2026, aged 83 years.
Born in the United States, Paul made New Zealand his home, where he quietly lived out his later years. A dedicated and respected music teacher, he shared his love of music with many throughout his career.
A loved uncle and friend.

In rural Eastern Washington State, a place where Paul lived for a few years, we had a small music group called the Stranger Creek Minstrels. One year, with Paul’s help, we sang a section of Benjamin Britten’s Ceremony of Carols. He pushed us to get it right! After, and until this day, I’ve loved playing that same music during the month of December.
