Legacy – written by Mikayla Wiles

    In this surreal reality
a piece of me is missing –
    but not forgotten,
    a touch replaced with memory.
    It’s bittersweet
    to know you are free
back on your feet in eternity,
    but not here with me.
I’m left to face this piece with grief
but I am not alone in it.

I promise to meet you in the clouds
    during a sky-dive one day
    and finish ‘The Mandalorian’
    for the both of us.
I will eat lots of black liquorice
and admire every fence and digger
    to keep you close.

    Most importantly:
I am forever my father’s daughter,
we are one in the same.
I will speak your name out loud,
    share your testimony
    and carry your legacy.
I will smile because of how kind you were
and remain thankful that you were the best father
    I could ever ask for.

I will always love you papa –
I know you would be so proud.

    Hi Rob,
I’m sorry I didn’t get to see you before you passed. It’s been some years now, but I remember always a smiling and kind face. You always struck me as a grounded man genuine in his faith.
No doubt I will have the opportunity to see you again in Glory.
Blessings and Peace to you Monique over this time of Loss.

I have known Rob for many years having lived in Cambridge for 8 years earlier. Last year at this time I stayed at the Wiles family home ad I went to the field days Rob and I spent quality time together as we had so much to talk about what the Lord Jesus Christ has been doing in our lives
If any of you people out there don’t have that love joy and peace in your life ask someone there how can I become a born again Christian.
Think about this statement. Where the body of Christ meets there exists a warmth and harmony that far out ways the secular media of today

Just heard about your passing Rob. I’m shocked and saddened. You were a legend on that bobcat mate and a pleasure to watch you do your craft. We didn’t work that long together but you were a pleasure to work with. My condolences go out to your family and fellow workmates.RIP mate.

Rob was a godly man with a great sense of humor and an easy-going nature. Well loved and well respected by all. He quietly got on with things and when he spoke you needed to listen because he was insightful and concise with his words.
It is a bittersweet time as naturally we experience the loss of his presence in our lives but he goes on to experience a much greater presence in his.
We had 24 wonderful years together, though not without challenges, and yet I would not trade one minute of the life we shared together.
Faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love.Love you always and forever my Darling Rob xox

Thinking of you all and sorry for your loss, rest easy Rob you fought hard.
We will miss Robcat very much, his dedication and workmanship were top notch as well as being a top man. Upset that we didn’t get time to bring Rob a card signed by the team and goodies, hopefully you knew how much we valued Rob.

A strange mix of sadness and relief, family. While he is now with his saviour full of wonder, with quietend hearts we remember him knowing that at our appointed time we will rejoice together again.
While there is sadness in tge moment, there is hope and joy in the journey to come.

    Dear Monique, Mikayla and Ben,

So sorry to hear about Rob’s passing or we could say promotion to glory.
May you feel comfort from these verses from 2 Corinthians 5:
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands…
Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight.

He will be rejoicing with the Lord now, free from pain. I pray you can all experience the love and peace of Christ in these sad times.

    In Christ we stand
