Very sad news for the instrument community. Roger was a great source of knowledge on his products and the use. Added to his general knowledge of all things football and the old country. Thanks for the chats.

I had every intention of attending Rogers send off yesterday but sadly, an urgent issue for one of our clients got in the way.
No doubt knowing Roger, there will be more than a few laughs and some tears. Roger was a man I had immense professional regard for but also whose company I really enjoyed.
I will truly miss the ability to reach out to Roger for a chat or to share a cool story and occasionally, even for his advice on the application of his beloved Vega gear

He was the man who employed me gave my job at VEGA, who mentored me an influence me on all aspects of my job. Roger was always a leader, a character and larger-than-life, with a story to tell, but always an ear to listen. He will be missed in the VEGA family, as they sadly mourn his passing, I wish his the family happiness in the future as they remember and also celebrate his life.

I met Roger for the first time in 1996, I was looking after Vega in Ireland and Roger was our point of contact. Since then I’ve shared plenty of drinks, meals, meetings and car trips.
Roger made a lasting impression on everyone he dealt with, he was warm, funny and always great company. He always made me laugh to the point of tears. I will miss bumping into him at Vega events.
Condolences to his family and friends, RIP Roger.

    Dear family, dear friends,

I was horrified to receive the news of Roger’s sudden death. I would therefore like to express my deepest condolences and wish you all much strength to cope with the painful loss.

I got to know Roger as a competent and extremely helpful colleague at VEGA in the 1990s. He showed me the “real life” with a lot of humor during my first trips abroad. He always supported me and I learned a lot from him. At every meeting in recent years, we have always remembered this time with pleasure. It hurts me all the more that these meetings and exchanges will now no longer exist. I will always remember him as one of my companions and mentors.

    With kind regards
Holger Sack (former R&D engineer for radar equipment, Product Manager and head of Product Management)
