I read with deep sadness of Shirley’s passing. I spent many busy night shifts working with Shirley at Waikato Hospital on M16. Shirley was very knowledgeable, unflappable and welcoming when I was a new nurse on the ward. Shirley always liked to be busy, caring for patients and their needs. I admired Shirley’s dedication and attention to detail, no patient ever came to harm under Shirley’s care. Rest in peace Shirley. Amanda
My deepest condolences to Glenys and Peter, Trevor, the late Sandra and Michael and Rhonda and Ben on the loss of their mother. Also to Shirley’s sisters and brothers in law, Margaret and Don , Jean and Warren. My thoughts are with you all at this time.
Shirley was always so welcoming when we visited her. I was in awe of her gardening, cake decorating, cooking, machine knitting and sewing to name just a few of her exceptional skills. She lived such a full life.
Wishing you all peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow.
Love Maxine xx
To my eldest sister shirley.
I remember you when I was little though the age gap was large. When I stayed with you and your littlies. When we shared knitting machines and knitting. When you made endless amazing cakes for my family. Your talent was incredible. When you made my wedding dress. When I had my babies and you shared my joy and our mum came to yours for a get together.
When we were nurses together in different fields. You were a tireless worker for your family. Rest now and thank you for all your support over the years. JEAN.xx
